Penrith Methodist Church

Arrived at PMC for the 10-45 am service this morning.  With members away in Ghana and at the New Wine festival the congregation, we were told, was a bit thin, but the church was still well filled with a great mix across the age ranges.
It was a great service with the youth band leading the music for the whole of it, and doing it very ably.  A well modernised worship area was most comfortable and conducive to corporate worship, and the old communion area, though still bearing the raised area, had been cleared of unnecessary clutter leaving a good operating area with just a communion table, lectern, space for the worship band and the projection screen - strangely it was the screen which jarred in an otherwise aesthetically pleasing setting - though I am not sure how his could have been any other way.  Even the presence of pillars to support the gallery which caused some visibility restrictions of the main screen had been overcome with the strategic use of monitors.
The whole service had a good feel with a clear message and good encouragement to be focused on "running the race".
Even though we tried to sneak out at the end we were spotted and welcomed to join them for a drink of coffee.
All in all - a place we would go back to.
